Never Allow a Stranger to Enter the House

Use quality locks, a peephole and a strong door chain or security door.
Identification should be carefully checked. If in doubt, phone the organization they claim to represent.
If a stranger needs to make an emergency phone call, then offer to make the call yourself, whilst asking they wait outside.
