Bag Snatching Self Defence

Demonstrator: Sarah
Class: Women
Level: Novice

Strategy:
Will I let him have it or will I let him have it?

If someone tries to snatch your bag you may have to make a very quick tough decision.

Will I let my bag go in order to avoid a confrontation or will I resist and make the offender work harder for a living?

Nobody can make this decision for you.

Keep in mind as precious as you may feel your bag is, it is usually not worth personal injury.

Think about how you can reduce the amount of valuables that you carry around with you.

With less to lose, the decision to let the bag go will not be so difficult and you will be giving less of a reward for thieves.

If you are very confident and you decide to resist, then the photographs below show a good way to let them have it!

When the attacker and yourself are both pulling on the bag, suddenly switch to pushing the bag instead, giving it to them in the face.

Off balanced and blinded, the attacker will not know what hit them as you follow up with a knee strike.

2. Pushing bag into face with knee to groin.
