To assist you in this area Universal Self Defence has gathered together a collection of videos and multimedia editions from some the world’s leading martial artists and fitness trainers. Instructional books, manuals and DVD’s can never be a substitute for having an experienced personal trainer giving you hands on coaching. But if we are unable to travel the world to go to all the top seminars then Instructional videos and multimedia is the only way to get the inspiration we all so desperately need to aspire and achieve. The main benefit from reading a number of varying expert techniques presented in training manuals and watching instructional DVD’s is it increases your general knowledge of the martial arts and fitness training more so than learning from the one instructor. Even when you don’t agree with a particular technique or that technique is just not for you, there is still knowledge to be gained by studying and looking at the technique more closely and understanding exactly where the author is coming from. The greatest innovators in the martial arts quite often start by taking what it currently useful, then strive to improve on the technique not just copy it and then continue to fine tune to make it more efficient and to suit more practical purposes. But sometimes to be a great innovator or to be a good technician we need to be inspired by others and that’s where the books and DVD’s available on the Universal Self Defence web site may help you.

Books & Manuals
Running martial arts classes is not easy. It has never been more competitive so you need all the business skills and inspiration you can find. Although martial arts technique is your core asset, you need more than that to run a successful business. At Universal Self Defence there are a number of books and manuals that can help your martial arts business gain an edge over the competition and also give you ideas how to run a more efficient martial arts school. The Universal Self Defence Academy first edition manual book by Master Peter Burke is also available. It is a comprehensive guide that has everything, including how to make your own Universal Self Defence plan and what you need to do to pass all your Usda grading tests and achieve your 1st degree black belt and beyond. The Capoeira Basic Techniques book comes with a DVD so you can see the fluid acrobatic motion of this fascinating martial art and why it has become so popular around the world.

DVDs
There is also wide range of Martial Arts and Fitness educational DVD’s available at the Universal Self Defence web store. Most of the fitness DVD’s showcase areas that every modern day complete martial artist needs to cover. Everything from kettle bell training, to using speed and power equipment and stretching with yoga, Pilates and Flowfit exercises can be studied via DVD. Also there are DVDs with great martial artists like the legendary Joe Lewis and DVDs on Muay-Thai kickboxing, Capoeira, self defense against weapons, self defence for women and Universal Self Defence.
